Borat was slightly overrated. It was funny... but it wasn't that great.
Just wanted everyone to know my opinion.
The Departed was fucking awesome though. |

I woke up this morning to some terrific news!
"Hezbollah leader Claims 'Strategic, Historic Victory' Against Israel"
If a victory is considered where all your civilians don't die, then yes, I guess there might have been a victory. However, there was no victory for this side and that they declare it is the problem with the middle east and it's what will drive this conflict further.
Why should I have a problem with what they say? I know that they didn't achieve victory, so what should it matter if they declare it? The problem is that they truly believe they have had a victory.
Everytime Israel works up enough strength and courage to finally put an end to the violence in the region (yes, they have to use violence to end violence), the west gets scared and calls them off before they can finish. If Israel was completely able to destroy Lebanon's infrustructure and government, Hezbollah would in no way be able to claim victory. But since the west makes Israel end the battle before this can happen, Hezbollah is able to declare victory because Israel has retreated from their land.
What does this show the middle eastern countries? They can do whatever they want to Israel. As soon as Israel invades them, the west will stop them before any destruction that cannot be fixed takes place. By declaring victory, they're basically making sure that this crisis never ends.
Also, about 10 minutes ago: "Two FOX NEWS journalists kidnapped in Gaza..." This might change the situation a litte. |

[Jul. 12th, 2006|05:27 pm] |

So today a kid who I assume to be no older than 12 or 13 IM's me.
Here is the conversation: Bfd414: Dave answer tHeSiMpSoNsFrEaK: who's dave? Bfd414: David Kirsch
tHeSiMpSoNsFrEaK: don't know him Bfd414: Dave stop being a jerk
tHeSiMpSoNsFrEaK: where does dave go to school? Bfd414: Who is this
Bfd414: Hello tHeSiMpSoNsFrEaK: this is andy... i don't know anybody named Dave Kirsch, although he sounds like a great guy Bfd414: Andy what
tHeSiMpSoNsFrEaK: andy morris... and what's your name? Bfd414: Benjamin Francis Dworznik Bfd414: By the way I know your name is David Kirsch b/c you told me it was thesimpsonsfreak tHeSiMpSoNsFrEaK: i'm the second baseman for the LA dodgers Bfd414: It is you because David is obsessed with baseball tHeSiMpSoNsFrEaK: no, see... that was a lie. Your friend david also lied to you about his screen name. We're all capable of lies Bfd414: Dave your a freaking liar
tHeSiMpSoNsFrEaK: how old are you? Bfd414: I don't know tHeSiMpSoNsFrEaK: makes sense Bfd414: If you want to be a jerk I'll be jerk tHeSiMpSoNsFrEaK: k tHeSiMpSoNsFrEaK: i'll never actually meet you so i could give a fuck Bfd414: What does K mean

So, I figured I might as well have a little fun with this. So I found out the kid's e-mail address and sent him this message: Dear Benjamin,
We have detected that you have been involved in "prank instant messaging" over the last few days.
This e-mail is inteded to force the immediate termination of these actions.
Within the next 24 hours, you must apologize to those whom you have wronged with your actions. If this is not done, you will face further punishment.
Sincerely,
Daniel Radcliff, Spam Police
For some reason, children will believe anything they read.
10 minutes after I sent this I received this IM: Bfd414: I am so sory I misunderstood my friend lied I'm am sory Mr. Morris. It well never happen again
All is now right in the world.

Today I somehow ended up at Pride, the biggest Gay Pride event of the year, in San Francisco, the gayest city in the country.
Now, I wouldn't consider myself very homophobic normally, but I've never been more uncomfortable in my life.
Maybe it was the massive amounts of guys making out with each other, maybe it was the fact that all the lesbian couples had one hot girl and one ugly girl (I'm serious... lesbians must be the least shallow people in the world), maybe it was the naked men walking around everywhere, or, most likely, it was the strange horrors I saw in leather alley (I can now say I've seen a man stripped and spanked in the middle of the street) but I just didn't feel I fit in there.
Anyway, it was an interesting experiance... but I doubt I'll be going back anytime soon. |

Tonight, I made dinner for my family and me and it actually turned out well. It was the most amazing thing ever. I managed to make a Thai Chicken Peanut stir fry and it tasted pretty good.
In other news, I wasn't elected to ASUC senate... only serious candidates actually won this year (nobody appreciated my I will Be Kicked Out Of Berkeley if You Don't Vote for Me campagn). Maybe next year I'll run seriously. I highly doubt it though and I'll probably just stand outside in a miniskirt again yelling "vote for me" without any actualy platform.
Anyway, being back in Agoura kind of makes me want to update this thing (which explains my update) so you might hear from me more. Probably not though.
And if you haven't seen me yet, leave me a comment or something and I'll try to see you ASAP. |

I haven't posted anything in almost a month! So this is a special treat for all of you.
I'm coming home on the 19th, but I'm only gunna be home for a little while so make sure to see me when you can.
Anyway, my first year of college is almost over. I would talk about how much I've changed over the year and grown, but I don't really think I have that much. So, I categorized ways that I've changed.
Academics: Berkeley academics killed me. There was absolutely no class that was "easier than I expected". But the biggest change of all is that I realized that I hate computer science, which is what my major was. I found it too boring, tedius, and overall unrewarding. But fortunately I found that I really like political science, economics, and business and it's never too late to change majors (unless you're a junior).
Social: Well, I have a lot more friends here, but mostly because there are a lot more people here. Joining a fraternity was probably the smartest move that I made in my early college days. It provides a great friends base and I've become incredibly close to almost every one of my brothers. I've hooked up with quite a few girls, but I haven't had sex yet (not that I'm proud of that or anything, just trying to be honest). I'm happy with all my new friends and excited to spend another three years here with them... which is the best thing I can ask for.
Drugs/Alcohol: I've definitely become more open to try new things, although I do have my limits. I heard that there's a rumor in Agoura that I'm a complete alcoholic/stoner. Although anybody who knows me and still believes that is at least somewhat retarded, I find it pretty funny. I have definitely experimented with both substances, but so does everybody in college. And it's pretty ridulous to assume that just because I get high every once in a while that I'm a completely different person. Also, on 4/20 I tripped the fuck out and was curled into a ball on the couch thinking that my heart was going to explode. I haven't smoked since. :)
Activities: I still did a little theater this year, but not nearly as much as I did in highschool. I only took one theater class, but I learned more in this class than I did in all my years of high school. The biggest difference was that every single person in the class, whether they'd done a thousand shows or never acted a day in their life, put in all the effort they could and actually took the class seriously. That was pretty refreshing. My biggest change in activities was I actually got somewhat involved in campus politics. I ran for a major office (which, because of technicalities, we don't find out the results for at least another week) and I actually began to understand the issues that effect the campus. Overall, this was a great experiance.
So, all in all, Freshman year was pretty good. I just kind of threw this out here for my own benefit and to keep in touch with people I haven't talked to in a while.
Comment, I'd love to hear from all of you and see most of you when I come back next week.
